Salvaging the Hoegh Osaka, Southampton

Southampton, United Kingdoms

The Hoegh Osaka, a large car transport ship, ran aground in the harbour mouth of the Solent, Southampton. A complex salvage operation followed, in which speed, safety, and precision were all-important.

We were involved in preparing and supervising parts of the salvage operation. Think of selecting the right support at sea, coordinating equipment, and liaising with the right specialists. In situations like this, every minute counts, and mistakes are not an option. This was a typical “all or nothing” project: high risk, high stakes, and exactly why we love to do this work.
